October, 2008--Firm Principal, Michelle C. Thomas, provides insight in the October issue of ESSENCE, a nationally distributed magazine, regarding financial infidelity in divorce in the article, "Little Green Lies: How financial fibs can destroy trust as well as the bottom line.

July, 2008-- Ms. Thomas was appointed to the board of the Women’s Bar Association of DC Foundation (WBA Foundation).  The WBA Foundation supports the mission of the Women’s Bar Association, and other charitable organizations that share similar goals of promoting women in the legal profession.  Ms. Thomas’ term will extend for three (3) years. 

During her term as President, the Greater Washington Area Chapter of the National Bar Association (NBA) received the 2008 Outstanding Affiliate Chapter of the Year Award from the NBA for its outstanding contributions and service to the legal community in Washington, DC.

December, 2007-- Michelle C. Thomas, the Principal of the firm, was recently named YOUNG LAWYER OF THE YEAR by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC) during its Gala dinner and award ceremony on December 1, 2007.  Ms. Thomas was honored for her unyielding service and leadership in the community, and commitment to excellence in the law.  The Gala attracted hundreds of judges, lawyers and friends from the Greater Washington Area to celebrate the BADC's four honorees, including Ms. Thomas.

September, 2007-- Michelle C. Thomas was elected to serve as President of the Greater Washington Area Chapter, Women Lawyers' Division of the National Bar Association (GWAC) in May, 2007, and was sworn into office by a D.C. Superior Court  Judge on September 17, 2007.  GWAC is dedicated to community service as well as the professional and personal development of law students and attorneys.  Ms. Thomas' term runs through August 31, 2008.
