Stephen W. Payne

Stephen W. Payne joined the firm in 2014 and focuses his practice on all aspects of divorce and family law in the District of Columbia, including contested and uncontested divorce, child custody and visitation, modification of custody and support orders, contempt proceedings, civil protection orders, alimony and equitable distribution of property. In addition to litigation, Stephen skillfully advises clients in settlement negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, and mediation to help clients achieve desired goals for their family and their future. Stephen is best known for staying calm under pressure-- while getting the job done. Prior to joining the firm, Stephen practiced civil litigation, employment and family law in Ogden, Utah.

Stephen is a native of Florida, and a proud graduate of the University of Florida, summa cum laude (Go Gators!) and the University of Miami School of Law. He and his wife enjoy running marathons and skiing in their spare time.
